The new curriculum focuses on an integrated approach to training. It attempts to balance breadth and depth of knowledge to provide a solid foundation in basic electrical engineering, computer science & engineering, mathematics and comprehensive education in the humanities and management.
The assessment semester is intended to consolidate a student’s educational background for higher learning and further help him/her to adapt to the system. He/she will then be placed in one of the two streams (Electrical / Computer). The students admitted to the electrical engineering stream, study core electrical engineering courses for 3 semesters. This provides them with a broad background for all areas of electrical and electronics engineering. During the last three years, students are given the opportunity to focus on either the EEE or ECE specialization as shown in the flowchart above. The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) stream involves the transfer of information such as voice, music, data, videos or graphics between people or machines at different locations. This specialization helps the student to get practical exposure to the fundamentals of the most commonly used electronic communication techniques and data communication systems.
