We provide food for students three times daily. Our meal schedule adheres to fasting seasons of the orthodox Christian church and our café provides special non-fasting food for Muslim students on those seasons.
Our monthly allowance is roughly 50% more than other Ethiopian universities. And due to our small number of students, a significantly higher quality of food is served than any other college in country.
Mekelle Institute of Technology is currently providing full free cafeteria services to students. There is also a high-quality lounge that gives 6 days a week service to the community of the Institute.
The Institute’s cafe provides service to students only, whereas the lounge gives service to every Institute community member at an affordable price.
The free cafeteria service includes: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
