Short-term courses in IT Essentials

(PC hardware and software)

Objectives After the completion of the courses, trainees will be able to:

Identify the components of PC machine.

Describe the best safety practices in using computers and their devices.

Perform a step-by-step assembly of desktop computers.

Install Operating Systems and perform preventive maintenance.

Carry out troubleshooting to identify problems in PCs, Laptops, Printers, etc.

Upgrade and/or replace defected components of ICT devices.

Configure computers for optimized performances.

Implement basic physical and software security principles.

Assess customer needs, analyze possible configurations, and provide solutions in hardware, software, networking, and security.

Develop critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills in ICT.


Admission The Short-Term Courses in IT Essentials is prepared to address the needs of: individuals involved in small business activities; organizations looking for optimized use of computers and related devices and tools; ICT experts and technicians; and individuals aspiring to build careers in ICT. Therefore, the Courses are open to anybody seeking short, but comprehensive training in PC hardware and software.

Assessment & Evaluation The assessment and evaluation schemes employed in the Courses will ensure that trainees have satisfactorily grasped the theoretical concepts and principles and exhibited practical skills. Exams are prepared by the Global Cisco Networking Academy, centered in the United States of America. Theoretical exams are given online.

Certification Trainees who successfully complete the Courses in our Cisco Networking Academy, described as Local Cisco Networking Academy, will be awarded with an official certificate of successful completion. Successful trainees shall be legible to sit for the International Cisco Networking Certification exam, with a considerable discount.


Course Delivery The Short-Term Courses in IT Essential are prepared in Modular form. There are two modules in PC hardware and software. A trainee can take one or both of the modules. The training is delivered face-to-face via lecturing or similar methods. Moreover, training will be supported with online interactive lessons and practical/lab sessions. More emphasis will be given to practical lessons to help students develop fundamental skills in using, maintaining, and troubleshooting of computers.

Training Schedule Courses will be planned to suit the needs of the trainees and the schedules of the trainers. The duration of each course will be determined based on the volume of the content. Nonetheless, it may also be adjusted depending on the background, experience, and demand of trainees.

Culture day celebration to be televised on ETV

MIT celebrated yet another colorful culture day. The event gave students the opportunity to exhibit their cultures on a public setting.

 

The celebration started in the morning as students embellished themselves with traditional clothes before going to their classes. Photo shootout was followed by native games like ‘karsa’ and ‘gebeta’ at noon. Students particularly enjoyed the ‘karsa’ competition.
