MIT celebrated yet another colorful culture day. The event gave students the opportunity to exhibit their cultures on a public setting.
The celebration started in the morning as students embellished themselves with traditional clothes before going to their classes. Photo shootout was followed by native games like ‘karsa’ and ‘gebeta’ at noon. Students particularly enjoyed the ‘karsa’ competition.
The major event was however the culture showcase starting from 12:00 PM LT. Students from different cultures showed off their traditional clothes, foods and drinks as well as dance moves.
The Raya marriage ritual was particularly interesting. Students from that area performed every part of the ritual starting from the groom sending elder messengers to brides parents to the last poignant moment when he takes her out to their newly established home.
ETV was present at the evening’s showcase and interviewed some students. Major part of the show is expected to be televised today at 1:20 PM LT[EXACT_TIME_HERE].
