DEPARTMENT FOR RESEARCH AND CONSULTANCY
MIT runs development and research activities to produce software and hardware tools. The Institute’s Business and Consultancy Department is involved in the development of websites, database applications, and software. Completed and on-going software development projects include: Tigrai NRS human resource management system as per the requirements of PBR, Axum tourism website and database application, Tigrai Tourism Agency website, EFFORT static and dynamic websites, Express Ethiopia Travel website and database application, and software to automate the bureaucratic systems of Tigrai NRS Justice Bureau and Police Commission.
Likewise, a number of projects are being carried out on hardware development and research in collaboration with the Information Communications Technology Assisted Development (ICTAD) Project and the Federal Engineering Capacity Building Program (ECBP). On-going projects include: Solar energy powered FM community radio, solar energy powered water pump, solar energy powered residential and street lighting system, automatic solar controller, and solar power inverter. Moreover, the Institute has a number of potential projects ready for development.
The department of research and consultancy is MIT’s wing that works on research, development, training, consultancy and community service activities.
